Life is unpredictable, it changes like the seasons. 2025 is the year of new beginnings for BoomerRang Designs.  A shift in life has brought a shift in business as I refocus my attention to where it all began, purely handmade works of art.  With a sense of renewed creativity, I am redirecting my business into an ancient form of woodworking, intarsia.  Instarsia first began in the early 1300's and continued through the 1600's. Strangely, the art seemed to have disappeared until it resurfaced in the 1980's.  This form of woodworking focuses on the use of uniquely and naturally colored woods cut by hand on a scroll saw.  No dyes, stains, or paints are used in the craft.  

While the laser is a crucial tool in my business and helped me grow my business initially, I feel that I have drifted from where my true passion lies.  Intarsia is an art that requires you to slow down.  To truly focus on the precision and details of a piece.  I feel that my passion for woodworking has deepened to a new level that fills me with an indescribable thrill to walk into my shop with a renewed desire to create one of a kind pieces.

Even as the business shifts, the laser will remain an important tool as it has opened new and different doors for my business.  I will simply be redefining its purpose.  Without change there cannot be growth.  As Jack Welch said “Where there’s change, there’s opportunity.”
