Meet the Maker

Hey!  I’m Nicole, owner and creator at BoomerRang Designs.  In 2015, I purchased my first home and took on a whole new adventure of DIY, expanding my skills with the help of my father, and taking on a wide variety of new projects.

In 2017, after much encouragement from friends and family I opened BoomerRang Designs with my "business partner," Boomer, the Bernese mountain dog!  And yes, the business is named after Boomer!  When he was a puppy my Dad would say he'd "boomerang" around the house.  When it came time to design a logo for the business it was a no brainer that it needed to reflect my best friend.  This is also the year I met my husband, Andy, who is my biggest supporter.  

My business started out with making wooden beer caddies and hand burning the designs, along with hand cutting letters for signs.  As the business grew, I realized I needed to work smarter, not harder.  In 2020, I purchased my first laser, which was a turning point for the business.  I was now able to tackle other projects while the laser engraved.  In 2021, that little laser failed and my husband and I made the decision to invest in the future of the business with the purchase of an 80 watt CO2 laser from OMTech.  GAME CHANGER.  Now, I am not only able to engrave but I can also cut materials with my laser.

In 2022, our family expanded to include our newest shop dog, Echo.  Echo is obsessed with the piles of sawdust I create in the shop and comes running when he hears the power tools start up because he knows a “custom made” stick will be coming his way.

Custom items are the bread and butter of my business including refinishing and/or repurposing unwanted furniture.  There is nothing I love more than when a customer asks "hey, can you make this?"  If you've got an idea, shoot me a message!
