"Woodland Legacy"
This beautiful cardinal is crafted from 78 hand cut pieces utilizing a scroll saw. This style of woodworking is called "Intarsia". Intarsia first began in the early 1300's and continued through the 1600's. The art seemed to disappear until it resurfaced in the 1980's. It is still not widely known but it is an extremely unique style of woodworking. No dyes or stains are used. What you see is the natural color of the wood. Because of this each art piece is unique and one of a kind.
